Latest Updates from Our Project:

Reward shipping and CD release concert!
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 08, 2019 at 03:35:10 PM

Hello backers!

In the month of June, here's where we're at with the distribution of various rewards:

CDs and digital downloads: With the exception of a few CDs I will be handing off to backers in person in the coming weeks, all CDs have been shipped and all digital downloads have been distributed. If I owe you a copy of the record and you have not yet received it, please reach out.

Art prints: Distribution of art prints began a few days ago and will continue at a gradual pace throughout the month of June. I have encountered a few speed bumps with the print on demand website I am using (Redbubble) which I am continuing to work through with customer service representatives, so distribution of these is proceeding more slowly than I would like. Thank you for your patience and I will let you know if the delay seems as though it is going to become especially lengthy.

Lyric sheets: I believe Justin is finished, or nearly finished, with his artwork. I hope to get the finished lyric sheets back from him within the week and to ship them out as soon as I can.

Cover songs: I'll admit I haven't made much progress on this yet, but I plan to turn my attention to it just as soon as the art has gone out!

Finally, I wanted to let you all know that if you'll be at the CONvergence science fiction convention in Minnesota this July 4-7, 2019, I will be performing a CD release concert on the Harmonic CONvergence stage at 10 p.m. on July 4. If you'll be at CVG, I hope you can join me for the show! I am starting to pursue other booking opportunities around the upper Midwest for the summer and fall as well, and I will certainly let you all know if I'm playing live anywhere else in the near future.

Thanks for your ongoing support!

It's here!

A moment 5+ years in the making
A moment 5+ years in the making

Your eyes do not deceive you: That's the CD version of The Hero's Journey, which I picked up this past Friday from the replication plant on my way to DemiCon in Des Moines, Iowa. I've begun to distribute these copies in person to my local backers and will continue to do so throughout the spring and summer. The full album is also up on my Bandcamp page if you'd like to stream or share it from there.

For those of you who are not local to me and who opted to have your CDs mailed to you, orders have been locked and cards have been charged, and I plan to lock addresses and mail all discs within the next couple of weeks. (So if your address has changed since you filled out the BackerKit survey, please update it so your rewards will go to the right place.) I will also be working on fulfilling art prints and lyric sheets throughout the month of May, with a goal of having all of those shipped out by the end of the month as well. Ideally, the only thing that should take longer is the cover song perk claimed by one backer, since I'll need to learn and practice the requested song and figure out the best way to arrange and record it. To that backer, thank you for your support and your patience!

I hope you're all as excited as I am to see this project finally reaching completion. As always, thank you for everything you've all done to help it get this far.

It's almost here! Finalize your pledges...
about 5 years ago – Tue, Apr 16, 2019 at 04:54:45 PM

Hi everyone!

Today marked another amazing milestone on the journey of The Hero's Journey. I have delivered the complete mixed and mastered tracks and the finalized art to our CD replication vendor, and paid for the copies to be made. I should have the physical copies in hand in under 2 weeks, and in the month of May I plan to ship them out to all of you. This represents the culmination of over 5 years of hard work, and it couldn't have happened without all of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting this project.

The completion of the album also means that it's time to finalize your pledges! A few of you still haven't filled out your backer surveys; please do so if you haven't already, so I know how to thank you on my website and where to send your rewards. I will be locking orders in 24 hours, so please update your addresses if you've moved and your rewards options if you've changed your mind about anything you might have selected a few months ago. Once the orders have been locked tomorrow evening, if you pledged $20 or more you'll want to look for a surprise in your inbox. (c:

Oh, and one more thing I almost forgot: Here's what the cover art looks like.

Thanks again for everything you've all done!
